Salvia coahuilensis
Height x Spread: 45cm x 40cm
Ever so pretty and dainty, the intense purple hooded flowers of this lower growing bushy Salvia from Mexico really draw the eye, flowering on slender stems above neat glossy green foliage.
A strong performer, each plant is packed with spikes that start to open in late May and can continue into early autumn. Planted in large groups it forms very attractive groundcover, helping to crowd out those pesky weeds, but also works well as a container plant on a sunny terrace, where it will flower its socks off. Needing protection in cold winters, plant it in a sheltered spot enjoying full sun in a free-draining soil.
