Coreopsis tinctoria
Height x Spread: 75cm x 45cm
Carefree and ever so cheerful, Coreopsis tinctoria is a dazzling sight from mid summer through to autumn, producing masses of yellow daisy flowers each with a distinctive blood red centre carried on multi-branching stems.
Hailing from the North American continent, this fast-growing annual is mostly found on the plains and can withstand high temperatures. A definite shoe-in for a naturalistic planting scheme such as a wildflower meadow or planted en masse with ornamental grasses, it also makes a knock-out and easy container plant, delivering graceful shots of hot colour for months on end. Although it does tend to seed around, rogue seedlings can be easily pulled. This excellent cut flower thrives in full sun in a fertile, free draining soil. ANNUAL
