Kniphofia 'Fiery Fred'
Height x Spread: 130cm x 150cm.
This tall, architectural plant will add a touch of exotic drama to any sunny, moist but well drained site. Happiest in neutral to acidic conditions it will tolerate partial shade but will flower much more freely when given a warm, sunny site. To encourage repeat flowering, remove all spent flower stems. The flowers are produced in abundance at the top of tall stems and are tubular and bright orange with yellow undersides. The leaves are glossy, strap like and arch elegantly. Divide the clumps every few years and ensure the plant does not sit in continually wet soil over winter. Flowering is from June to September.
