Galactites tomentosa white-flowered
Height x Spread: 90cm x 60cm
Found in Spain and other areas of south west Europe this plant is sometimes called the white flowered milk thistle. It has tall erect stems and deeply lobed dark green leaves with pronounced silvery white veins and spines. It produces rounded, many petalled, fragrant white flowers. Attractive to all kinds of pollinators it will flower from June to August.
Traditionally used in Europe as a medicinal plant, it is now used to add drama and drought tolerance to rock, gravel, city, courtyard, wildlife and Mediterranean style planting schemes. Normally an annual or biennial species, seeds can be collected and used to perpetuate this plant in your garden. No known pests or diseases have been recorded for this plant.
