Geranium phaeum 'Alec's Pink'
Height x Spread: 70cm x 50cm
Flat pinky-purple flowers with gently drooping heads are carried in sprays on erect stems above hummocks of deeply cut foliage. A strong pink form of 'Mourning Widow', it is useful for adding delicacy and colour to a late spring shady border.
It looks great combined with lime greens such as Euphorbia amygdaloides var. Robbie, or the white and orange of Lilium martagon var. album. A bee magnet, it is ideal for a woodland garden. This Geranium is quite undemanding and can cope with most reasonably fertile soils, as long as they are not waterlogged. It will thrive in shady or partial shady location.
