Geranium × magnificum
Height x Spread: 45cm x 60cm
Dense clusters of large purple-blue flowers with purple-black veins jostle for position above mounds of hairy mid-green foliage. A Geranium that will stop you in your tracks. In full flower its opulent display is a sight to behold. Its autumn display of glowing red-orange foliage only adds to its appeal.
Very effective ground cover, use it where it will be seen, perhaps at the front of a border or in a gravel garden. Cutting back faded foliage and stems after flowering will encourage fresh growth. Not particularly demanding, it grows best in any soil with some drainage and moisture, but not overly damp, in full sun or partial shade.
