Geum rivale 'Album'
Height x Spread: 30cm x 60cm
This white form of water avens produces initially hanging bells of green-white flowers that mature, open and gently straighten up on hairy short stems above clumping mid green leaves.
Perfect planted alongside a stream or pool, where its dainty and naturalistic form is really showcased, it also looks at home in woodland settings. Alternatively grow it in small groups at the front of a cottage garden border for delicate spring colour. An excellent ground cover plant, its clumping foliage will help smother weeds. Regular lifting and division of plants every three years will promote healthy vigour.
'Album' performs best in a moist soil in a partially shaded site.
