Description
Hylotelephium 'Carl'
Height x Spread: 45cm x 45cm
This form of 'stonecrop' bears gently domed heads of vivid pink star-like flowers, on sturdy stems with fleshy greyish-green foliage. 'Carl' is a fabulous and prolific plant, producing striking, nectar rich flowers much beloved by bees and butterflies in late summer heading into autumn.
Its intense colour really packs a punch when planted in groups at the front of a sunny border, or in containers around a seating area. Very versatile, its preference for dry soil with a fair amount of nutrients means that it is also an excellent choice for a gravel garden, or areas subject to occasional droughts. If Sedum tend to flop in your soil, cut back stems by half in late May to get a sturdier plant. This plant will thrive in full sun, in a free draining soil that is fairly fertile.

From mid to late summer 'Little Goldstar' produces masses of golden yellow daisy-like flowers with black cone centres. This is a relatively compact Rudbeckia with green, lance-shaped leaves.

Its combination of gorgeous pink and white picotee flowers and a fresh variegated foliage is very striking, especially as the foliage colour matures through the season.
ASTER thomsonii
This is a sturdy, clump-forming plant with grey-green foliage of narrow ovate leaves and, from August to October, many ray florets up to 5cm across.
NEPETA grandiflora 'Summer Magic' PBR
This excellent variety would be an ideal substitute for a lavender hedge in soils where lavender does not thrive. It was a new introduction in 2013, launched at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
