Flowering from May into June, Iris 'Rajah' lives up to its name delivering a majestic and opulent display of luscious blooms that combine primrose yellow standards and beards with velvety purplish-maroon falls edged in yellow. Nectar rich with a spicy scent, the flowers contrast well with blue-green sword-like foliage and are veritable bee magnets.
Initially introduced in 1942, this popular cottage garden stalwart also makes a fantastic choice for a jewel or cutting garden, but needs a well drained soil in full sun for its best performance.
