Iris 'Silver Edge'

Early summer provides us with gorgeous blooms, deep blue standards with a sensational silver edge, a blue fall tinged with purple and edged with silver with a yellow/white centre. 'Silver Edge' is a clump-forming perennial with lance-shaped green leaves.
This variety of Siberian Iris is happy in any reasonably good moisture-retentive yet free-draining soil in sun or partial shade. Coastal locations are ideal as the plant is tolerant to salt spray. This is an excellent plant for many locations, it will be happy beside streams or ponds as long as the soil does not become waterlogged. It is also an excellent plant for courtyard gardens and cottage gardens, the old flower stems if left will provide winter interest.
