Upright stems carrying soft purple-pink flowers like jesters' hats, with narrow petals and purple bracts above greenish-purple spear-shaped leaves. Aromatic foliage. This very popular form of Bergamot enjoys a long flowering season, flowering its socks off from July into autumn.
A classic ingredient of a cottage garden or herbaceous border, it adds soft colour, structure and texture to the middle tier. Bees love it. This perennial will thrive in any humus-rich soil that is fairly fertile and well drained, with some moisture, in a full sun or partially shaded site.
