Monarda 'Gardenview Scarlet'
Height x Spread: 100cm x 60cm
Large, shaggy, post box red flowers with narrow petals on a cradle of pale green bracts that turn bronze with age. These are held on upright stems with aromatic mid green lance-shaped leaves. This mildew resistant variety is very popular with bees.
Bred for its intense flower colour, this modern cultivar really adds fireworks to the border and is an obvious candidate for 'hot' planting schemes. It also combines beautifully with darker red grasses . To get the best from this plant, grow it in a fertile, moist but free draining soil, that does not dry out in the summer in the sun or partial shade.
