Potentilla napalensis 'Miss Willmott'
Height x Spread: 35cm x 50cm
Another wonderful perennial named after 'Miss Willmott' - she of the Eryngium giganteum 'Miss Willmott's Ghost' fame - with masses of neat buds which open up to reveal raspberry pink flowers with wine red centres, carried in loose clusters over mounds of mid green leaves.
Hardier and tougher than its delicate looks suggest, it flowers from midsummer into early autumn gently clumping up and sprawling to fill in gaps and help keep the weeds down. Easy to grow and versatile, it thrives in a poor to fairly fertile well-drained soil in full sun, making it a very pretty addition to a gravel garden or planter on a sunny terrace. Bees love it.
