Paeonia emodi
Height x Spread: 50cm x 60cm
During late spring Paeonia emodi produces large, single pure-white flowers with golden stamens. These stunning blooms are hermaphrodite, having both male and female organs, and are pollinated by insects. It has attractive deeply cut green foliage. Commonly known as the Himalayan Peony, this perennial is native to Asia.
Tubers from Paeonia emodi have medicinal value. This blousy bloomer would look sensational in a white garden. Great for areas in the sun or dappled shade providing the soil is reasonably good. When planting Paeonia make sure that you don't plant them too deeply as this will inhibit their flowering.
All parts of this plant are toxic.
