Paeonia lactiflora 'Duchesse de Nemours'
Height x Spread: 80cm x 60cm
This Paeonia has to be one of the oldest (dating back to 1856) and is without doubt one of the most popular cultivars available. The double, creamy-white blooms have a gorgeous scent.
'Duchesse de Nemours' is quite happy in any reasonably good soil, in a sunny location. Perfect for a white garden or a sensory garden thanks to its fragrant blooms. It's also wonderful when used in floral arrangements. Deadhead once flowers are spent and leave the foliage to die down naturally. When planting Paeonia make sure that you don't plant them too deeply as this will inhibit their flowering.
Paeonia can be extremely harmful if consumed.
