Upright slender stems bear pure white cup-shaped blooms with contrasting black blotches at the base of each petal, during early summer. Hairy, mid-green leaves sit beneath the tall stems, normally this foliage will die away after flowering and reappear in early autumn.
Sunny, sheltered positions are ideal for this perennial, with a reasonably good soil. Perfect for cottage gardens and herbaceous borders and for coastal situations.
