Penstemon 'Hewell Pink Bedder'
Height x Spread: 75cm x 60cm
This semi-evergreen clump-forming perennial produces reddish-pink trumpet-like flowers with a white throat streaked with reddish-pink, throughout the summer months. The flowers are held above silvery green, narrow, lance-shaped foliage.
Happy to grow in any reasonable, moisture-retentive yet free-draining soil in either sun or very light-shade.Keep deadheading during the summer to encourage further flowering. Leave the top growth on over winter to protect this slightly tender perennial. Cut it back hard after the last spring frosts. Penstemon can be propagated by taking softwood cuttings during summer. A useful long flowering plant for small gardens, it would look perfectly placed in any cottage garden or courtyard garden.
