Bistorta amplexicaulis 'Firetail'

Small red tubular flowers cluster together to create stunning spikes of colour, during summer and early autumn. Commonly known as Red Bistort, this herbaceous perennial has a clump-forming habit. Its large heart-shaped leaves with their prominent veins add structure to your borders and flower beds.
It is happiest in either a sunny or partially shady area. Moisture retentive soils are perfect for 'Firetail', it is an ideal candidate for planting along streams, around ponds or in any boggy situation. Cut back the flower spikes once it has finished flowering.
Contact with all parts may irritate skin.
