Bistorta amplexicaulis 'JS Caliente'PBR
Height x Spread: 70cm x 70cm
During summer spires of small, fiery red flowers burst onto the scene. Large pointed green leaves slowly turn to red in autumn. 'JS Caliente' derives from Jan Spruyt (JS), the breeder of this perennial and the Spanish word for hot (caliente).
This plant is a perfect choice for 'hot' colour themed borders in the sun or for lifting the darkness from areas of partial shade. It looks fantastic beside streams and ponds, especially when reflected in still water - It thrives in boggy soils.
