With demure soft dusky pink petals opening from purple buds above blue-green foliage, this charming and unusual new Baptisia introduction has been gaining many fresh admirers.
A definite shoo-in for a sunny cottage garden or mixed herbaceous border, it is more compact than B. australis so place it closer to the front to show it off. After flowering from late spring through midsummer, attractive seedpods develop adding interest to your winter garden, especially when picked out by a hoar frost. It thrives in a good, free-draining soil in a sunny position.
