Salvia × sylvestris 'Rose Queen'
Height x Spread: 60cm x 60cm
'Rose Queen' is a bushy Salvia, boasting lots of flower spikes with closely packed vivid, rose pink flowers that open from dark reddish-pink buds, with neat, green foliage smelling of sage. Bees will flock to this low maintenance plant. To get the best display from July into September, cut out faded stems regularly to kick start unflowered stems.
A delicious combination of colour, vertical form and scent, this delicate looking plant is actually very tough and hardy. A staple ingredient of any cottage garden, it also makes a good choice for a gravel garden or planted in containers around a sunny terrace. This plant will grow in any fairly fertile soil, with some richness and moisture, in full sun or partial shade.
