Scabiosa columbaria subsp. ochroleuca 'Moon Dance'

Masses of small, soft yellow flowers like pincushions, bob and weave on narrow stems above low, mounding feather-like grey green foliage. This recently introduced scabious is highly rated for its prolific and long flowering performance from early summer into autumn.
More compact, it nonetheless delivers impact with its combination of texture, lightness and colour and would look stunning edging a path, or in groups at the front of an informal bed, attracting bees and butterflies in their droves. Alternatively, capitalise on its drought tolerance and informal looks, by planting it in drifts through a gravel garden. Good for containers, it also makes an excellent cut flower. Undemanding, it thrives in any free draining soil in full sun.
