Viola cornuta
Height x Spread: 15cm x 30cm
Native to the Pyranees, Viola cornuta is commonly known as the Horned Pansy. Long-spurred purply-blue single flowers that bloom throughout the summer cover a spreading evergreen mat of lush green heart-shaped foliage.
V.cornuta will grow in any reasonable soil in full sun or dappled shade. After flowering cut this Viola back to keep it compact. Constantly deadheading the spent flowers will prolong its season. This is a great ground cover or edging plant which will provide you with a flurry of blooms, the perfect choice for planting with roses.
