Malva × clementii 'Rosea' AGM
Height x Spread: 150-250cm x 150-250cm
This Malva is a vigorous, medium sized sun-shrub that is semi-evergreen. It has hairy grey stems and leaves and masses of pink trumpet shaped flowers, up to 8cm across, throughout summer to early autumn. Each flower produces lots of sugar rich nectar making it invaluable for pollinators. Pinch it back in the Spring to encourage lots of side shoots and even more flowers.
Happiest in full sun and rich well drained soil of any pH. It is fully hardy in the UK. but place it so that it is protected from cold easterly winds as this can burn the tips of the plant. This plant can be relatively short lived (approximately 7-9 years). It may also suffer from rust which though unsightly, causes no damage.
Ideal for coastal, city, courtyard, Mediterranean, cottage and informal gardens. This low maintenance plant is invaluable to bringing pollinators into your gardens and has a long and prolific flowering season.
