A graceful and delicious combination of soft deep blue star-like flowers and pointed fresh green foliage ensures that 'Blue Ice' really stands out in the early summer garden.  But its value does not end there, firstly developing pea-like seed pods after flowering, then come autumn its foliage turns a vivid yellow hue illuminating the garden.

More compact than other forms of AMSONIA, it looks stunning planted in naturalistic drifts as part of a woodland garden but works equally well as attractive but ruthless ground cover suppressing those pesky weeds at the front of a border.  Said to be rabbit resistant, it is both hardy and easy to maintain, thriving in either sun or part shade in a well-drained soil.
