Iris 'Quechee'
Height x Spread: 90cm x 50cm
Bang on trend for rusty red and brown Iris, 'Quechee' offers a rich flower colour combination of mahogany falls each highlighted with golden yellow beard, twinned with slightly paler upright ruffled standards. Its nectar rich flowers smell delicious too with a scent of chocolate orange.
Flowering from May to June, plant it in drifts through a sunny gravel or cottage garden, where it will look stunning combined with other jewel colours such as oranges, yellows, blues and pale pinks. Once the flowers fade, the bold sword-like foliage remains into the autumn adding useful structure and leaf contrast for other plants. Like many Bearded Iris it thrives in a very sunny spot in free draining soil.
