Aquilegia vulgaris 'William Guinness'
Height x Spread: 90cm x 60cm
This is a stunning Aquilegia with almost black outer petals and an inner ring of white-edged petals, flowering in spring above clumps of green fern-like foliage.
A reliable cultivar that looks beautiful drifting elegantly through the middle of a border, drawing the eye, but also highlighting other plants. Try combining it with whites for a monochromatic scheme, lime greens, oranges and yellows. The plants thrive in sun or part shade, and in any soil.
Harmful if eaten.
