Plump feathery spikes of vivid, dark crimson-red flowers appear in mid summer above attractive, deeply divided foliage.
Not a shy and retiring type, 'Fanal' really packs a punch in the border. It loves heavy soils that are moisture retentive, especially clay and is perfect for a bog garden. It makes good sized clumps after a few years and requires splitting to keep them healthy - perhaps every third year. Full sun is preferable although they will tolerate part shade.
