Geum 'Red Wings'
Height x Spread: 45cm x 45cm
An abundance of semi double, vivid scarlet-red flowers bob and weave on tall branching stems above crinkled, slightly hairy, green basal leaves. This noteworthy, but hard to find Geum, boasts a long flowering period from May into early autumn. To extend flowering, regularly deadhead.
Its knock-out colour adds hot accents to the front of a cottage garden border, but also combines well with oranges, whites and purples such as Verbena rigida. An undemanding plant it grows well in any good soil, with some drainage, even clay if improved with chunky organic matter.
