Corydalis 'Korn's Purple'

Height x Spread: 50cm x 50cm

Bred in Sweden by Peter Korn in the 1990’s. This beautiful form of this ever-popular shade loving, herbaceous perennial has proven itself to be a strong grower, forming good clumps that can be split in early spring when it gets to a suitable size. Best grown in fertile, moist but well drained soil in partial shade. It is said to prefer neutral to acidic soil however, our water on the nursery is quite alkaline and it has prospered. The deep purple flowers with white centres are held in clusters above the delicate foliage from May through to July. Like all Corydalis after flowering it becomes dormant for the remainder or the year before reappearing in winter.

Ideal for cottage or informal gardens, it can be used as pretty under planting for roses and other shrubs, once established it needs very little attention at all.
