Primula japonica ‘Alba’ produces pure white flowers with a honey-yellow eye, arranged in elegant tiers on slender upright stems during spring and early summer. The flower stems arise from a rosette of pale green, slightly crinkled leaves at the base of the plant.
‘Alba’ thrives in partial shade and is ideal for woodland gardens, bog gardens, and the edges of streams or ponds, where it will self-seed freely. It also grows well in sun, provided the soil is humus-rich and reasonably moist.
