Cyclamen coum
Height x Spread: 10cm x 30cm
Deep pink flowers like elaborately folded hats stand proudly on dark stems above rounded marbled foliage from January to late March.
Definitely a plant to bring cheer to a winter garden, it seems to appear by magic when everything else is dormant. It will naturalise quite readily beneath deciduous trees or in a grassed area, if the soil is fairly fertile, humus rich and free draining. Alternatively populate your winter containers with them or use them to add a splash of colour beneath shrubs and roses. It prefers partial shade, but can cope with more shade.
