Dahlia 'Bishop of Llandaff'
Height x Spread: 150cm x 90cm
'Bishop of Llandaff' produces masses of eye-popping single scarlet flowers over bushy, dark bronze, almost black foliage from midsummer into autumn. One of the most loved and best performing Dahlia around, it is equally popular with bees, which love its nectar/pollen rich flowers.
A great cutting plant, it really packs a punch in a 'hot' border, delivering colour into the autumn with regular deadheading. In informal planting schemes it contrasts well with airy plants such as Verbena bonariensis. It will thrive in full sun and should be planted in fertile, humus-rich well-drained soil.
H3 - Hardy in coastal and relatively mild parts of the UK (-5 to 1)
Available for Mail Order from May - End of July
