Dicentra 'Stuart Boothman'
Height x Spread: 30cm x 45cm
This compact form of 'bleeding heart' has graceful nodding, mid-pink heart-shaped flowers above mounds of finely divided blue-green foliage in early summer.
Very dainty but tough, it will gently spread in part shade to provide ground cover. The foliage will die back after flowering, so plant with contrasting leaf plants such as Bergenia 'Harzkristal' to continue interest . A versatile plant, it is suitable for banks and slopes, borders and also underplanting shrubs. Dicentra 'Stuart Boothman' will thrive in a fertile, moist, neutral to alkaline soil in part shade. It can withstand more sun if the soil is damp.
All parts of this plant cause stomach ache if ingested. The foliage can aggravate skin allergies.
