Paeonia lactiflora 'Krinkled White'
Height x Spread: 70cm x 60cm
A truly lovely single Paeony with slightly ruffled and crimped white petals surrounding a large centre of golden yolk-yellow stamens - a excellent case of 'Less is More'.
Early flowering from May into June, it is often seen in RHS Chelsea Flower Show gardens mixed with Astrantia, Campaula and Iris sibirica, its attractively bushy and delicately cut foliage enhancing the other perennials. When the blooms have faded, its foliage continues to play a part in the garden acting as a foil for other plants before taking on delicious autumnal tints. More compact with sturdy stems, it does not need to be staked and lasts well in water if picked in bud. It thrives in full sun in a fertile, moist but free draining soil.
Paeony is harmful if eaten
