Melittis melissophyllum white-flowered
Height x Spread: 45cm x 35cm
Pure white form of 'Bastard Balm', producing small flaring, tubular flowers that spring from the intersection of pairs of mid green leaves with its strong stems. Enjoying a long flowering period from June to August.
This delicate looking plant is a great choice for a partially shaded spot in a woodland setting under-planting deciduous trees. Gently clumping, it will take time to mature but once established it is low maintenance. Great for attracting wildlife. It thrives in any damp to dry soil enriched with humus in partial shade to shade. If the soil is moist enough, it can tolerate full sun.
