Paeonia 'Claire de Lune'

'Claire de Lune' is a show-stopping Peony, with fabulous lemon yellow, almost cream, cup-shaped flowers which burst onto the scene during early summer. Strong red stems bear the blousy blooms which have at their centres a wonderful mound of golden stamens. The blooms stand out well against their green foliage.

This peony with its fragrant flowers is perfect for a perfumed or sensual garden. 'Claire de Lune' is not a fussy hybrid, the result a cross between Paeonia lactiflora and Paeonia mlokosewitschii , it is happy to grow in any reasonable soil in a sunny spot. Ensure you don't plant your Paeonia's too deeply as this will inhibit their flowering.
