Phlox paniculata 'Dresden China'
Height x Spread: 70cm x 50cm
A long standing favourite at the nursery, 'Dresden China' boasts delicate shell-pink flushed with white individual flowers, each highlighted with a deep pink eye. These are held in large clusters on sturdy upright stems with glossy mid green foliage.
Dating from the 1940's, this hard to find cottage garden stalwart is unashamedly pretty, adding soft colour and fragrance to the middle of a border from mid summer onwards. It works equally well in more contemporary planting schemes mixed with ornamental grasses such as Stipa and perennials such as Salvia. Make a space for it too in your cutting garden as it cuts and lasts well in arrangements. This veritable bee and butterfly magnet thrives in full sun or part shade in a fertile, reasonably moist soil.
