Height x Spread: 150cm x 60cm
Native to Greece and found in rocky areas with free draining soil, NEPETA parnassica has a delightful upright clump forming habit with large grey-green leaves and bold lilac-blue flower heads that flower throughout the summer attracting many types of pollinators.
It enjoys dappled shade and would be happy under a deciduous tree or in an east facing planter on your terrace. Easy to grow and tough, it can also tolerate full sun if the soil has access to some moisture. It suits a gravel or pairie style garden, where you can enjoy the height and movement of this plant in the breeze. For a delightful combination of colour, texture and flowerhead combine it with STIPA tenuissima, STIPA gigantea, ANTHEMIS tictoria ‘E.C. Buxton’, or ACHILLEA millefolium ‘Pomegranate’ (Tutti Frutti Series).
