Polemonium 'Heaven Scent'
Height x Spread: 50cm x 40cm
'Heaven Scent' is a charming and unusual form of Jacob's Ladder. In spring its fresh bronzed foliage emerges, the delicate leaves acting as a foil for other spring flowers before clusters of purplish-blue flowers appear in May, often lasting until early July. As the flowers fade, the leaves become green but remain upright continuing their season of interest in the garden.
A recent hybrid cross of Polemonium reptans and P. yezoense, it has been bred for its colour combination and sweet scent. It is particularly good for smaller gardens or a summer planter where plants have to really earn their place. Easy to grow in a free draining soil in sun or part shade, cutting it back after its first flush will encourage a further round of flowers. The pollinators will love it too.
