Primula veris is our Common Cowslip, we are all familiar with its dainty nodding tubular flowers which are yellow in colour and wonderfully fragrant. Perfect for a spring garden or for naturalising in an informal lawn or at the edges of woodland.
Cowslips grow happily in any reasonable, moist but free-draining soil in sun or dappled shade. It will self-seed and in time form good colonies.
