Silene fimbriata
Height x Spread: 70cm x 60cm
Commonly known as 'Bladderwort' or 'Fringed Campion', it carries clusters of single, white flowers with frilly petals and chunky, fresh green calyx, on tall stems above mounds of green foliage. Always a favourite on our RHS Chelsea stand, it is a go-to plant for designers too
Tolerant of dry shade, this is a fantastic plant for those difficult, dark areas of a garden under a tree, or next to a wall or fence, its cool, white flowers gently shining out of the gloom, lightening the mood. Very versatile, try using it for underplanting shrubs, as attractive ground or a naturalistic ingredient in your wildlife garden, as birds love its seeds. It thrives in partial to full shade, in a free draining, neutral to alkaline soil.
