Digitalis parviflora Jacq.
Height x Spread: 30cm x 20cm
This shorter perennial foxglove produces delicate spires of coppery brown bell-like flowers with a dark chocolate freckled yellow throat on sturdy stems above dark green basal rosettes. Hailing from northern Spain, it can also tolerate more sun than other native Northern European Digitalis.
One for connoisseurs, this noteworthy and exotic Digitalis looks fabulous with other rich dusky tones, especially bronze foliage, and is useful for underplanting shrubs. Beloved by insect pollinators, it is very easy to grow. Digitalis parviflora thrives in a soil with plenty of humus in part shade but can tolerate other conditions with the exception of drought or sodden ground.
All parts are poisonous.
