Cirsium rivulare 'Atropurpureum'

Thistle-like flowers bloom red/purple during spring and summer. Cirsium rivulare 'Atropurpureum' is a form of Plume Thistle, it is an upright clump forming perennial. Divided, non-prickly leaves form a basal rosette at the base of the upright stems.
It thrives in moist soils in either sun or partial shade. It will cope with dryer conditions if watered during very dry periods. Perfect for adding structure and form to beds and borders this plant is perfect for pollinators too and would be a great addition to a wildlife garden. Dead head to encourage further flowering.
